Yoga For Building Strength And Feeling Fabulous

Sun salutations are a great way to begin your practise or kick start your day. The sun salutes build strength and stamina and re-energise your whole being.

Sun salutations are a flowing sequence of postures that link your body, breath and mind –revitalising your whole being. There are several variations of sun salutes, but they all warm the major muscle groups of your body, so are ideal to perform at the beginning of the practise.

They build strength and stamina, and are a great way to improve the health of your spine. The repeated compression and release of the vertebral discs in the spine as you fold forwards and backwards creates a pumping action, hydrating your discs and making them more efficient shock absorbers.

Yoga postures use every muscle in the body – helping to increase strength from head to toe! While these postures strengthen the body, they also relieve muscular tension. Yoga teaches people to take slower, deeper breaths.

This helps to improve lung functioning, trigger the body’s relaxation response and increase the amount of oxygen available to the body – bringing more oxygenated blood to the body’s cells. No wonder we feel so strong AND fabulous after each practice!
